Perimenopause
Have you noticed the physical clues of perimenopause? It is the process of menopause starting. Then you have a short time of being in actually menopause before you are actually postmenopause. For a better definition, click the button below.
Physical Clues
Common clues of perimenopause include:
- Irregular Periods
- Hot Flashes
- Vaginal Dryness
- Sleep Disturbances
- Mood Swings
These are results of changing levels of estrogen in your body. There’s still a slight chance of becoming pregnant, so watch your birth control option if needed.
Low Estrogen Levels
Lower estrogen levels (POI-Primary Ovarian Insufficiency) can have negative effects on our bone density, our brain and our sex drive. Check with your healthcare provider or a naturopath to get help with these effects.
Natural Menopause
Natural menopause…the spontaneous, permanent ending of menstruation. This is a normal and natural event. When’s woman has not had her period for 12 consecutive months, that is menopause. Before this, it is perimenopause. After that we are postmenopause.
Most women will experience natural menopause between the ages of 40 and 58. Typically women reach menopause around the same age as their mothers.
