14 Day Gratefulness Challenge
Sometimes we forget the little things that bring us joy. Simple things in life to remind us we have so much to be grateful for. There is so much power in gratitude. It can change our attitude, make us happy and give us some life satisfaction. It can also decrease symptoms of depression.
When life gets hectic and crazy, we often forget to slow down and take time to appreciate the good things we have in our life.
With Thanksgiving 2021 around the corner, I thought it would be a great time to have a Gratefulness Challenge. Take 14 days and journal or make a list of the small things in life you are grateful for.
Here is a small list to give you some inspiration.
- Going outside and being in nature. Whether it’s a walk around the neighborhood or a hike in the mountains, fresh air feels good!
- Reading a good book, especially by a fire…with coffee, of course.
- Watching a sunset or sunrise. Having our spouse or someone special cuddling makes it even better.
- Sharing memories and photos with your favorite people.
- Cats purring or dogs snoring.
- Homemade bread with homemade soup.
- Watching it rain or snow out your window.
- Fresh bedding or linens.
- Singing in the shower or enjoying a hot bath.
- Color of leaves in the fall.
- Farm fresh eggs.
- Country roads.
- Milkshakes with whipped cream and two straws.
- A cozy nook with a cozy blanket and a cozy book.
I promise the more you find and look for to be grateful for, the more content you will be. Being content can bring a feeling of peace. Even when times are tough we can look for the simples things in life.
